Just as managing and profiting from data is a key topic for players across the automotive industry, so it is too for regulators, with ever-growing sets of rules around customer data, business data, and vehicle data … all now being further transformed by the dimension of AI.
Whilst we wait for the European Commission to publish its long-awaited assessment of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption, the competition law rules governing aftersales agreements and market access rights for independent aftermarket operators (in which the topic of data will also inevitably feature heavily …), this webinar will look at a number of other recent legal developments at both European and national levels that relate to the management of data and online channels. Some of them directly involve the automotive sector, and all of them give valuable lessons around how the competition principles of the MVBER and its parent the VBER translate into enforcement practice, alongside other emerging areas of regulation around data.
We will cover issues including how a brand can steer what their franchised retailers do online, how regulators are growing increasingly concerned at the risks of collusion when a number of players all use the same data analytics platforms, and at the latest EU guidelines around 'high risk' uses of AI tools.
This webinar will be of interest to all involved in data strategy and channel management, whether at OEM, dealer, or service provider level.
