current phase of the ICDP's collaborative
research (2009 - 2011) into Car Distribution, Retailing and After-Sales is entitled Profiting
from change: strategies for effective retailing and after-sales.

ICDP is a non-profit
organisation with thirty researchers and advisors in
France, Germany,
Italy, Spain and the UK.
It undertakes collaborative research into all aspects of new car supply and sales, used cars, and after sales. Its objective is to devise and develop practical ways of reforming the supply chain, retail network structures and customer interaction in a sustained and systematic manner. Since 1994, ICDP has demonstrated a track record of contributions to its members, providing:
- Concepts and ideas - for reconfiguring new car supply,
or dealer processes.
- Investigation - of critical issues ranging from Block Exemption to Customer
Management.
- Benchmarking - of the efficiency and effectiveness of each player's supply
systems.
- Tools - for analysing and comparing options for reconfiguring distribution.
- Networking - with active involvement of all kinds of player
in the automotive industry.
- A sounding board - an external,
independent, and expert perspective.
ICDP provides practical and speedy outputs in the form of briefings,
presentations and reports. Its member forums, seminars and workshops
stimulate debate based on rigorous analysis and data.
Membership
of ICDP is open to any organisation involved in car distribution.
