ICDP is a non-profit research organisation and all membership funds are spent on research and dissemination. Membership is open to any organisation with a direct interest in car distribution.
ICDP's research is conducted impartially, and benefits from
the input of all its members. Its independence has allowed
ICDP to play a leading role in identifying new methods and relationships
necessary for the improvement of the car distribution system.
ICDP
adds value in a number of important ways:
- Providing
a holistic view of the system, an industry-wide and international
context
to
complement
the
specific focus
and function of our sponsor representatives.
- Generating ideas and concepts, both ways to improve the existing
system and possible new formats.
- Providing analytical tools
for evaluation of ideas and options - e.g. scenario generation,
simulation, activity mapping.
- Establishing benchmarks of progress
in improving the system, based on a unique database of
sponsor data.
ICDP has published more than 300 reports and briefings.
As important as these are to members, they value the meetings
even more. The two full scale forums each year are reinforced
with a variety of
specialist seminars and workshops, and the debate in these
confidential sessions is a key source of ideas and stimulus
for members.
