Leonardo Buzzavo
Senior Advisor, Italy
Leonardo Buzzavo has been Senior Researcher for ICDP since 1994, and has
been appointed to the Board of Directors of ICDP in 2000.
He holds a B.A. degree in Business Economics from the Ca’ Foscari University
of Venice (magna cum laude) and a Ph.D degree in Business Economics and Management
from the same University. He has also gained a one-year scholarship at the
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
He is Adjunct Professor at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (www.unive.it/economia)
where he has been teaching International Marketing (since 1998) and Business
Strategy (since 2002). His main research interests focus on strategy, innovation,
marketing and distribution, lean management, globalisation and the impact of
information and communication technologies on the above.
Since 1993 he has been a member of the research group for the automobile industry
at the Department of Economics and Management of the Ca’ Foscari University
of Venice.
In 2003 he has been developing Automotive Dealer Day (www.dealerday.it), annual
research forum and networking event for automotive distribution players in
Italy (the 2005 event has attracted over 1,500 participants).
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the SBS Master’s Course
(Strategies for the Sport Business) promoted by Ca’ Foscari Formazione & Ricerca
in Treviso, and a member of the Scientific Committee of the MDM Master’s
Course (Master in Dealer Management) promoted by Audea – Automotive Dealer
Academy (www.audea.it), that he co-founded in 2005.
He is a founding partner of Atlantic Consulting Srl (est. 2000) and of Quintegia
Srl (est. 2004 www.quintegia.it ), both companies operating in business research,
information, training, event promotion and consulting, mainly in the automotive
business field.
He carried out teaching and training activities at various institutions and
companies (besides the University of Venice, Venice International University,
Ca’ Foscari Formazione & Ricerca, CUOA - Vicenza, Luiss University
- Rome, European Consulting – Milan, Area Science Park – Trieste,
Universidade Vale dos Sinos in Brazil, Community Formazione).
He has also carried out training, conferencing and consulting activities with
many companies both in the automotive field (such as Autogerma, Castrol Italiana,
Chrysler-Jeep Italia, Citroen Italia, Confartigianato, Federaicpa, Fiat Auto,
Isvor Fiat, Iveco, Mercedes-Benz Italia, Nissan Italia, Renault Italia, Unrae)
and in other industries (Aprilia Consumer Service, E-TREE, Valdani Vicari & Associati).
Over the last decade he has been speaking at over 100 conferences and seminars
in over ten countries, mainly on themes related to automotive marketing and
distribution strategies.
He has authored many publications, including academic reviews such as Economia & Management
and Sviluppo & Organizzazione, and magazines such as Mondo Ecomomico, Il
Sole 24Ore, Quattroruote and AutoPro.
Besides Italian (his mother tongue), he speaks English, French, Spanish and
Portuguese. Whenever possible, he enjoys playing the piano and rowing.
